Georgetown is down to just three more chances to win a Big East game and avoid going winless in conference play for the first time in program history. But the Hoyas (6-21, 0-15 Big East) are going to need a significant upset in order to reach the win column after dropping a 68-65 home game to DePaul on Thursday. Up next is a Sunday home game on CBS vs. No. 21 UConn, which enters on a four-game winning streak.
The Huskies (20-7, 11-5) appear to be hitting their stride at the right time as they gear up for the postseason. Tuesday’s win over No. 8 Villanova required an intense emotional toll, however, and that could make this a trap spot if UConn isn’t. careful. Fourth-year coach Dan Hurley was ejected late in the first half as he pumped up the crowd after receiving a technical foul, but the Huskies found a way to get it done without him, and a court storming at the XL Center ensued.
The atmosphere at Georgetown’s Capital One Arena should be far more subdued as the program plays its final home game of the season — and what could wind up as the final home game of coach Patrick Ewing’s tenure. After this, the Hoyas close on the road against Seton Hall and Xavier.

These teams met on Jan. 25 with UConn claiming a 96-73 home victory as big men Isaiah Whaley and Adama Sanogo dominated for the Huskies. Unless the Hoyas find some miraculous Senior Day motivation and get inspired for what could be coach Patrick Ewing’s final home game, it’s hard to see this outcome being any different. UConn is hitting its stride and should be able to handle the Hoyas once again. Prediction: UConn 80, Georgetown 68
