GALLIPOLIS — Beaver Local’s wrestling team produced two district champions and four total state qualifiers after action on Saturday at the Div. II district tournament at Gallia Academy.
Mark Emmerling Jr. (138 pounds) and Logan Ours (157) took first in their respective weight classes, while Jaymin Salsberry (132) was second in his.
Gabe Morgan (175) was fourth to round out the Beaver contingent headed to the state tournament scheduled for Friday through Sunday at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus.
Emmerling Jr. scored a 9-4 decision over Dover’s Egidio DiFazio in the final to take home top billing. Emmerling Jr. (34-7) is now a four-time state qualifier.
Ours dominated his final with a pin of Dresden Tri-Valley’s Jason Patterson in 34 seconds. Ours (34-4) had three pins in the tournament in less than 50 seconds and one technical fall.
