Some 2,000 persons living in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Region Two, will commence working as of Monday, at various public agencies as the government pushes to fulfill another of its manifesto promises.
These persons will be attached to various government agencies and will be required to work for 10 days per month, earning approximately $40,000.
Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo, told hundreds of applicants at Suddie that his visit is a follow-up on a promise he made to Essequibians a month ago. He said the decision was made to create the part-time jobs for persons to cushion the economic crisis and to bring ease to families.
